Raising Awareness for Worthy Causes

From charity walks and runs to educational seminars, Home Helpers is an active member of the communities we serve. Check out how we’re stepping up to raise awareness for issues, such as Alzheimer’s disease and elder abuse.

2012 Walk to End Alzheimer's a Success!

2012 Alzheimer's Walk

On October 6, 2012, the Home Helpers Memory Keepers gathered together for the third year in a row to pay tribute to loved ones and support a great cause at the 2012 Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  With 28 Home Helpers Memory Keepers team members and several four-legged friends, this year was our best yet!

Through bake sales, silent auctions and everything in between, we surpassed our fundraising goal to contribute to the more than $300,000 raised by the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association – the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research.

We encourage everyone to take a stand by reaching out into your communities and joining us in the fight against Alzheimer’s! Every year, several Walks to End Alzheimer’s take place across the nation, and it’s easy to sign up as an individual or to form a team. For more information about how to get involved in your local community, visit www.alz.org.

Home Helpers Joins Forces with International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse

Home Helpers, one of the nation’s leading home care agencies, has partnered with the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA) to bring elder abuse to the forefront of societal concern and aid in its prevention. As a leading voice in geriatric care, Home Helpers is using its influence to promote the education of professionals and community members in the identification, treatment and prevention of this issue. Elder abuse is defined as any intentional or negligent action causing harm to a vulnerable adult, whether it be physical, emotional, sexual, financial, negligent or abandonment.

Elder abuse is a worldwide concern, and Home Helpers, INPEA and other leading organizations are committed to raising awareness for this issue, one community at a time. For more information on how you can aid in the prevention of elder abuse, watch our video or visit www.inpea.net.
